Cervelos are NOT THAT GOOD. They're only good for people who ride A LOT.

So when I went to an LBS last week where they carry Bianchi, Cervelo, Felt, and Specialized road bikes, the guy said not to consider the RS as a "comfort" bike. It may be built as a comfort bike due to its longer head tube, but it's all race. True? He also said that out of all the bikes I have in mind, the order goes as follows... RS, Infinito/Madone 5.2, and Roubaix. So if I want pure perfomance with a bit of comfort, my choice is the Cervelo... whether it's the RS, R2, or S series. Then if I want a bit both on performance and comfort, Infinito and Madone it is. If I want pure comfort, Roubaix is the bike for it. I dunno, but something about the Infinito that got me hooked even though it doesn't have the "low gear" I'm looking for. Then again, I never rode the Cervelos. For those who had experienced all of the above, what are your takes on each? I know that this is going to be an individual opinion,m but I would like to hear from you all. Is Cervelo really that good? I think it's the frame design and graphics that got me nodding on both Infinito and Madone... though it seems irrelevant.
Madone 6.9 - To equip a demo bike w/Di-2 should be crime. This thing felt good, fast on accerlation, but with the price tag on the back of my mind, i tried to elimate it out of my decision making as possible.
Roubaix - Too comfortable for my liking. I like a bit of speed and response in my bike. It wasn't as "nimble" as the tarmac. Handling wise, it felt a tad boring.
Tarmac - A little more responsive compared to Roubaix, but overall felt comfortable. It went when i wanted it to.
Team Machine - This thing climbs well, talk about vertical compliant. Very comfortable and doesn't require much effort on climbs.
R3-SL - Rode a lot like the Team Machine, if you told me to do a blind test, i wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
S3 - Oh wow, where do i begin. Equiped w/Zipp 404's, riding this thing was effortless. It was just plain fast. Fastest thing i've ever ridden. Each pedal stroke, you can feel the bike surge forward. The BB felt "light" and willing to surge. Every stroke you made would translate to power. Cervelo equiped bikes with Cateye Wireless Computers so you could tell your speed on the test ride.
S2 - Rides similar to the S3, but doesn't give as much as an oh wow factor. Thing is aero to the point where it still shaves off time on windy days. Love it.
Dual - Aluminum Bike w/ Aero DT. Talk about a stiff frameset. What Cervelo is known for, their stiffness.
Overall, the bikes ive tested all lived up to my expectations. If money was no object, no question the S3 would be in caddle. I havn't rode the RS, but based on the R3-SL, the bike felt very comfortable that was still able to move similarly to the BMC.

I'll join in. I don't have a Cervelo but I DO have a very small Cannondale. It's a 40cm frame (yes, I really am an adult woman) and the only water bottles that fit are small ones. I think that small Cervelo kicks ass.

Makes sense if you can actually afford to replace yours sooner than you would without sanding and salting the hell out of it. I'm in college and got mine for a lot less. Not finding that deal again.
