Durace crank problem

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not sure what you're referring to but if you're looking at the squared off teeth and such, that's normal. Chainrings have all sorts of weird angles, pins, ramps etc. to help shifting. Or am I missing it?

Wow the teeth on that crankset are so messed up!

I have an Ultegra crankset I will trade you for it if you want. I don't mind.

Pcad. I don't know what Guads are, but if you mean the muscles of your thigh, then it should be Quads (as in quadricepts), or are Guads a BF inside joke........

A new chain every now & again,

Is good!

Get as many miles out of your tires as you can, if that's your thing, but your chain buggers things up if you ignore it.

BF inside joke.

OP - crank is fine. One of the reasons that Shimano cranks shift so well is because they actually take the time to engineer the teeth, lift pins and ramps to actually facilitate the chain coming up on to the ring. Often imitated - never duplicated.

If you would prefer all of the teeth to look the same then I am sure someone would gladly trade you a POS crank for your DA one. I am sure I have a few laying around if you'd like to switch.

Again....I'll take it.

Just walked 10 feet into my shop and checked out the 8 Shimano cranks I had sitting there and all of them have what you are describing as "shark fins" in the vari-tooth ring design. Normal. Real shark fins are un-mistakable.
