For those who didn't follow the thread, I won the Pro-Lite photo contest. First prize was an Espresso TT frame, but I asked Pro-Lite if they'd substitute a road frame instead, so I received the Cuneo frame (56cm) and Pellegrino carbon seat post. It arrived today!!

This frame is LIGHT!! From what I can see, the quality is excellent. I'm not 100% sure on how I'm going to tackle the build, but I'm thinking Rival, Soul 4.0, Easton forks to name a few. Pro-Lite has asked me to document the build with comments and photos, which I will gladly do. We'll see how this shakes out in the next 3-4 months or so. I have lots of time, Canadian winter is about to start!

Nice looking frame. I like that it doesn't just say Pro-Lite 15 times like a lot of today's most popular bikes (a lot of Treks do this, and my Giant say "Giant" ten times on it...)

As far as Richard Prior goes, apparently my laundry cycle is sync'd with my creativity cycle!
Let me tell you, this frame is sweet! It is so light, and the tubes have these very cool contours to them that you can't see in the pics. The seat post is massive, and very high quality. Can't wait to build this thing.

Since I dropped a few G's on a brand new Cervelo a month ago, the theme of this build is going to be "budget". Since i have all winter to build it, I'm going to scour CL and Ebay for quality parts at cheap prices. I've already scored a few take offs for dirt cheap (stem, handlebars, saddle) from an LBS that I frequent, so I'm off to a good start.

My goal is to have this bike on the road for under $500.

Quick update - big order of parts made at Chain Reaction.

I've decided to build a modern SS conversion. I don't want Deep V's, or retro saddlebags.....this will be a modern, simple, lightweight urban SS road bike.
No cages, no computers, no clipless pedals. Just something I can jump on in my street clothes and head to the corner store, bike ride with my son, go to the beach etc.....

I will be keeping a photo journal, posted here and hopefully on the Pro-Lite website. Stay tuned!!

Co worker of mine donated his old saddle from his Tricross towards my project. Not going to refuse free parts

I have to say, this Pro-Lite seat post is very cool. Its not a typical two bolt design, where you have to turn the front "knurled" knob, then tighten down the rear bolt to level the seat. This has been a trial and error process for me in the past in order to get the seat properly levelled.

This is a unique one-bolt mechanism. One bolt loosened allows both fore and aft adjustment, and levelling around the axis of the mount. First time I've seen this type of mount, and it works flawlessly. Nice work Pro-Lite!!

Still waiting for my big box of goodies from Chain Reaction, but I received another "donation" today.

A friend of mine gave me a carbon handlbar/stem combo for free!! The handlebar is Zipp, and the stem is "Solido" (an italian company I've never heard of). The bar is an older Ergo style with a smaller clamp size than the standard 31.8mm common these days.







Not sure if I'll use it, since I already ordered a Pro-Lite combo in my Chain Reaction shopping list, so I'll see. The stem is also 105mm, and I typically use a 110 on all of my bikes. More to come!

That Solido stem is made by Cinelli. Arguably one of the better bicycle makers.

I've never been a fan of 2-bolt faceplate stems myself. Just seems "ill-conceived" to me. Nice looking bar though. It wouldn't matter if the bike is used for cadence riding, but I've never lived in a place without lots of hills and I get out of the saddle a fair bit, so I don't much care for a flexy stem.
