The OP's point was that, if used properly, the native BF search function is useful. I bumped the thread because it's Spring and this place gets new users that might benefit from the information in the original post.

google has a relatively nice search going now... haven't seen it here (didn't look

once at google type:
site:bikeforums.net <search topic here>
this seems to produce awesome results and there is no search limit. It only searches BF, and it can be refined to only search the 41 as follows:
