Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So with school and everything, I stopped riding road for about a month. Then, I picked up my 13 inch mountain bike from childhood and started riding it everywhere. I have learned a lot about trails around me and I really enjoy mountain biking now. I am already thinking about saving up for a 29er. How many of you guys ride mountain bikes in the off season?

I have a mountain bike, but it cost less than one of my road bike wheels.

I ride mountain bikes in the on-season too. Cuz I wanna.

From Rivendell's article, Tips on Happier Riding: Ride only when you want to.

And sometimes, I just want to ride dirt.
