Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Danger Dan got me thinking...

I just bought a new 2010 Tarmac Expert SL and need to unload my Blue AC1.

The original idea was to sell the whole bike, but now I'm wondering if I should just part it out. The bike is currently in pieces, since I just received the warrantied frame. I'd have to build up the bike to sell as a whole and at that I'd have to stick a set of wheels on since the Psimet wheels will be used on the Tarmac. The choice would be a lightly used set of Ksyrium Elites or the Equipes off the Tarmac.

Part of my problem is Blue is a pretty unkown company up in Canada and I have to assume my buyer would be from the US. Shipping a full bike across the border will be expensive, a frame, fork and seatpost, not so much.

It's funny, I have the frame in the stand right now waiting for the build to start...

Decisions, decisions...

I would sell it piece by piece if you have the patience to do so.

I think you will yield more profit doing this.
