bike build
I have and old Look Kevlar 2000 frame in the garage that I would like to build up for a commuter bike, I don't want to ride my good bike to work. I was thinking SRAM rival/force can I mix these components? or should I go with Shimano Ultegra/105 equipment?

SRAM rival/force will go together perfectly. For a commuter I would probably go with apex or a mix of apex/rival in order to save some money though.

All of SRAM is interchangeable except for short cage derailleurs and cassettes larger than 28t. In my opinion SRAM Rival is a bit much for a commuter bike. I probably wouldn't lock it up outside.
Also, if you're deciding between SRAM and Shimano, go with whichever you like more. The difference in performance, durability, etc. is pretty much the same. It's more about personal preference between the two systems. I prefer SRAM because of the hood shape and double tap.
