Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know what "prolly" means. I just hate the idea of adults using it.

Well done BBC. Support British business.

I think you're underestimating the study and it's findings for everyman, which are generally supported by other articles and common sense.

Plenty.

Is that a waste of money? I can think of far more stupid things to do with money than that, and I've done a few of them in the past.

How do you get all that money being on the forum so much??? Rich Uncle?

Smoke em if you got em...

But... not everyone is in your economic bracket and can't afford to spend $350.00 a month on bike schwag and you know better than anyone else the law of diminishing returns when it comes to the money spent on bicycles.

I know lots of people your age who are thin and happy and manage to do this without spending $350.00 a month on their cycling but still manage to ride rather decent bicycles every day.

The article is funny because it contains a lot of truth in it... lighter bikes have their advantages and do make racers faster, give the poseurs something to go on about, and make old farts feel younger.

Ah ok - to keep it close to that Beeb article.

So can we now conclude that the Brits dont get irony either?

Lovely weather,
