CAAD9 is Mustang GT of the late 80's
Cheap.
Best bang for buck.
Made in America.
Easy to maintain.
Newbie friendly.
Deadly in the right hands.
Could beat the pants off of bikes costing 10 times as much.
Competitive.

There are very little ascertainable facts that correlate any relationship between bicycle brands and automobiles. That being the case, I have my formulated own opinions. That being said I say that
Colnago = Ferrari because:
1. Colnago's comparative cost to other bicycles is similar to the comparative cost of Ferrari's in regards to other vehicles. (No I am not talking about a single bike dressed up in all of the fanciest components...every bike manufacture has a bike that is like this; we can compare this as the supercar of every car brand. I am speaking of the entire lineup as a whole)
2. Colnago's hold their resale value far greater than any other bicycle. Try finding any Colnago under a grand either vintage models or ones that are only a few years old; very similar to any Ferrari.
3. They both market to customers that can afford to pay the premium and be part of such an elite group.
4. Obvious fact, both Colnago and Ferrari have a profound Italian heritage and there have even been Ferrari badged Colnago's
5. Only a small percentage of cyclists own Colnagos similar to the ratio of Ferrari owners compared to overall car owners.
Based on such logic, feel free to prove me otherwise
One last note, I do not own a Colnago nor a Ferrari.

I think that this is where Colnago part ways.

Can be towards the new 2011 Mustang GTs as well, 30k nets you a 5.0 liter V8 with 412 horsepower. Comparison tests against the BMW M3 the Mustang beat it in 1/4 mile times, 0-60, 60-0 tests, and the skidpad. Mustang was within half a second of the M3's lap times, all with a live rear axle.

Would The Kestrel Talon and the Airfoil and the 4000 be like the Mercedes “S” and
‘E” class? Sleek, different, looks like its going fast, looks like no other.
And the “RT” series be like the “C” class.

Throw the stick!!!!
I'm going to go put my cheap lower end Colnago in the oven and melt it down now. Once it fits in a small box I'll ship it back to Taiwan.

TIME is the Mexican Lowrider of bikes:
* overly flashy
* handling is sloshy
* hand built in someone's backyard
* the people who crave owning one are eerily similar
* purpose-built for posing

Please don't confuse vintage hand-built Italian steel with modern Asian mass-produced carbon fiber. They both may do the same thing but one has a soul and the other is all about profit margin . . .

Any Kestrel would be considered in the same family as Saturn. Definitely not Mercedes.

Pontiac = UMD
Saturn is to boring to be compared to UMD. Pontiac and UMD are/were both interesting with their moments of WTF were you thinking (Aztec, GTO without hood scopes....).
I'd say Felt = Tesla
Trek, Specialized, Cannondale = one of big 3, take your pick for which
Fuji = Suzuki
Pinarello = Lamborghini
Colnago = Ferrari (because of the sharing of data, licensing and I can goto Ferrari Store and buy them....probably the only things "made" by Ferrari to go offroad....)
ORbea = Seat
Cervelo = What Lotus used to be, not the overweight bloatmobiles they are becoming,
Cannondale = Toyota/Lexus
Scott = ?
BMC = BMW

this thread and the ridiculous justifications within it remind me of second grade recess when we would all talk about what dinosaur we were most like. i was totally a deinonychus. my bike would also probably be a deinonychus.

Trek = Toyota ; based on sales and because there's so many of them it's boring.
Specialized = Honda ; Since Honda puts effort in making their cars a little less boring than Toyotas, Specialized also has variety in bikes.
Bianchi = Porsche ; They are high end bikes, but some are affordable, some aren't. Boxster (affordable) Carrera GT (Not so affordable)
Pinarello = Lamborghini ; They're known for being high end and expensive.
Giant = GM ; They're both just giant companies...
Cervelo = Ferrari ; Red, fierce, and fast.
Fuji = Hyundai ; Underrated, but they're both catching up to the bigger companies.
Cannondale = Ford ; They can both be considered as an American Icon, and the CAAD9 is the Mustang.
