Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Netflix Instant recommendation thread

Please post your netflix instant recommendations here. Yes, it's understood one cannot actually watch television while suffering properly on a trainer, but I'm thinking more in terms of active recovery rides.

Here are mine to start:

CYCLING RELATED MOVIES

Breaking Away
Hell on Wheels
American Flyers

OTHER MOVIES

Keith
Two Lovers
Boondock Saints
Blackhawk Down
Diggers
The Vicious Kind
The Damned United

TV SERIES

The Office
Weeds

I nominate umd's Why you should wear a base layer video. As for real movies, just pop in any season of 24 and before you know it, you've just killed one to four hours. Eject disc, insert next disc.

Tim Johnson's.. don't know the name. Search for Tim Johnson, it's about his racing in the USGP of cyclocross.

Also - Breaking Away and American flyers are on there as well. I put up Strange Brew last night. I wish there were more cycling specific movies out there like blood, sweat, and gears, etc.

I love netflix instant stream. Pee Wee's Big Adventure is a cycling movie LOL.

There are so many good things to watch on there but whatever you do, do not watch The Human Centipede.

I prefer to watch TV series on Netflix instead of movies while on the trainer. Series that I watch are: Buffy The Vampire Slayer (yeah I know), Firefly, Battle Star Galactica, Red Dwarf, Futurama etc.

I dont have a trainer, but when I run on my treadmill, I have been watching The Office via Netflix Instant Play. Finished the series a few days ago and have started watching Lost from season 1. Good thread. I will be checking back here as I get close to the end of Lost. Netflix rocks!!!
