Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

OP - A free bike is only good if the frame size is the right size.
Incorrect. A free bike is always good.

I cleaned out an old frat house that had 5+ years worth of stuff including bikes. Found a tiny Trek Road bike that I thought was a good find. Took it home and had it sitting in the garage for a bit. A month later I was at a friends house and he had a Fuji Finest that was WAY too big for him that his brother-in-law had given him because he didn't like the narrow tires. I told him about the Trek and we switched - A fixie conversion later and that fuji was my bike for a long time. (until it was taken from my garage)

Here's the good part. A few years later someone was visiting my friend, saw the trek: "hey that's my bike!" Oops. Not sure how it all worked out.
