Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Louis Garneau VS everybody...

I've been holding out for Gore Bike Wear for the winter.

I love Louis Garneau's offerings.
I have LG sox/jerseys/shorts/gloves and they all deliver.
I automatically suspect that Gore is going to be much better,
but am open to buying LG if their gear is as good.

Money-wise, their getting pretty close now as Gore prices are coming down,
but what's most important to me is keeping dry & warm and out of the wind.

I was wondering if there is anyone out there who's used both and
can tell me how they compare or if there's anybody who's using
LG's winter gear for sub-30 degree weather.

I like my LG stuff. It is decent quality. But the Gore equivalents are worth the difference in $. That from someone that has both.

Thanks. That's what I'm looking for. It it's worth it, it's worth it.

Same here.

For example, I have a set of LG gloves and a set of Gore gloves. The Gore gloves keep my hands warmer and drier. (Fit wise, though, the Gore gloves are a bit tight around the wrists, but I deal with it.) I also have a pair of Gore shorts and a pair of LG shorts. The Gore shorts are just a bit better.

But LG makes good gear, so if the slightly better quality of the Gore isn't worth the price difference to you, you won't go wrong with LG.
