Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was going to say the real danger is being married to an astronaut. What? Too soon?

Their path is clear. They had demonstrated their inability to beat the Patriots many times but the Jets just did their heavy lifting for them.

Got Six?

...and we didn't have to cheat to get them. Unlike the Cheatriots.

I keep telling you pinheads the Jets are the most dangerous team in the playoffs. As they demonstrated yesterday. You just don't know which team shows up. The good Jets or the bad Jets. If it's the former, they go to the Super Bowl and win. If not, they get killed.

Makes it interesting to watch them.

I think the astronaut was riding a Specialized Tarmac - when he hit the tarmac.

Seriously - anyone know what kind of bike he was riding and the circumstances which led to the accident?

I searched today and yesterday to find out details, and all I've found is this:
"Astronaut Tim Kopra was involved in a bicycle accident over the weekend and apparently broke his hip. Although NASA has not confirmed the injury, several news agencies have reported the news." --but its not from a reputable newsource in my opinion.

The loss was quite depressing to those of us who are from the Boston area. However, irrespective of their bad behavior(s) the Jets do provide some exciting hijinks and complementary footballing'. Personally, I want Pittsburgh to lose this coming weekend.

Thanks for looking. I didn't find much either. I'm going to guess he was riding around on a racing bike as it provides plenty-more aerobic fitness for those flat areas of Florida. Can't say I ever saw a hill near Cape Canaveral/Kennedy.

Since he's an astronaut I'm going to guess Specialized, or Cervelo.

Christa McAuliffe's family may disagree about that danger part. Truth is, more than 1 space flight in 100 results in loss of crew.

Then there's the Formula One driver (Mark Webber) who has broken bones twice in the last two years... both times crashing his MTB.

Nick Heidfeld missed a few F1 races a while back because of a concussion sustained in a road bike crash as well.

That actually may be a bit low: the Soviets probably lost a few that they didn't report.
