You can find used helmets for a great price through ebay !
( I believe I got my s-works helmet for around 60 a couple of years back )

If there is one thing that I would NEVER buy used .. it is a helmet. A helmet is good for one 'use' and unless you are a professional helmet inspector, I wouldnt trust a used helmet from anyone even if they claim 'never crashed'. Likewise, no photo on ebay could show you if the foam is dented in from an impact.

The fact of the matter is .. its your head and you should spend some $$ to protect it. If you are too cheap to buy a brand new $$$$ unit at a store, find a new old stock one online at a discounter. However, I would never buy a used helmet off ebay especially.

Hopefully no one is selling crashed helmets. Also, if someone has crashed, I'm positive I could tell in a moments time. You get one bad feedback on e-bay and your credibility is almost shot.

I ended up getting a Bell Alchera at my LBS Performance Bikes. They matched their online price and some mumbo jumbo about giving me 20% off on top of that, but that's only for today! So it cost me $40 plus tax.

I did contact Bell on the replacement warranty and it was rather meek. 30% off of RETAIL and had to be a retailer that was participating in the program, or I could buy it through Bell and get it. Needless to say, it was cheaper finding something on sale. The days of Giro and others outright replacing your helmet are long gone.

To the person that PM'd me, I couldn't respond cause I have less than 50 posts. Thank you for the offer, but I have one of those helmets already. Hopefully someone else will be able to use it.
