Is this a good buy?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this a good buy?

I was thinking of getting a Specialized secteur triple but now found this.
https://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-se...AdIdZ251917580

Is it worth it? I'm getting a road bike to get in shape and tag along with my wife while she trains for a tri.

Thanks

Iff this is the right bike it retailed for $1800 new. $950 is too much for a 6 year old aluminum bike IMHO .

Actually, it's the aero 2, it retailed for $1200.
I figured 950 was too much, I was thinking closer to $500.

maybe - they aren't the nicest bikes, but certainly serviceable.
I'd pay around 500 for one in decent shape?

This is a wierd road / tri bike setup that really isn't great for either purpose in my opinion. Its a road geometry frame, with aero tubing and TT bars. If you want a TT bike, buy a real TT frame with aerobars, etc... If you want a road bike, get a road frame and set it up like a roadie.

$950 is overpriced for this bike and $500 is more realistic. However, I would suggest a plain road bike like the OCR or TCR frames from Giant instead.

Since this thread is resolved, rather than starting another one, how about this as a good buy? I can't find many recent sales on the Google, but my Google-fu is weak so I don't know that it means much to not find any results.

Nah, it sold before I had a chance to go look at it.

No big deal, I'm not in any kind of buying rush at the moment, too busy riding what I have. I'm just always keeping an eye out for great deals, and still trying to get a feel for what constitutes a great deal.

ETA: Oops, nevermind, it was deleted and reposted that I didn't see until just now. So it's actually still available, but posted at $950 now. Hmmm....

They raised the price??? Sounds kind of fishy to me.

If you ever wanted to know more about a specific bike .. go to bikepedia.com for complete specs.

https://bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeS...Team&Type=bike

Full carbon bike with full 105 10 speed is a pretty good buy for $900.

There is a lot of potential with this frame if you ever wanted to upgrade wheels, components, etc..

Yah, even with the $25 "relist fee" it's a good buy.
