Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ebay for groupset?

Hi guys,

Any suggested sellers from Ebay for SRAM groupsets? Is warranty upheld by SRAM if the set is sourced from Ebay? I know that Garmin does not honour warranty for ebay purchases.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about warranty but I know these sites have pretty reasonable prices.

Incorrect if purchased from an Authorized Dealer on eBay.

Just get it off Ebay. The initial savings makes up for the lack of warranty.

Planet X and ebay have same prices for SRAM Force.

Any suggested ebay sellers guadzilla? Murthy's friend is likely to carry it back for me. Would like it all in a single box rather than multiple boxes like this.

Would rather have the seller do the packaging rather than a non cycling guy who might just leave stuff behind in his hotel room;-)

I've bought stuff from lots of sellers. The common theme is they have thousands of transactions, dozens of recent like transactions and will answer questions through ebay (not external email). Of course using PayPal is mandatory, I won't pay any other way. I don't want to name specific sellers but I do trust the actual bike shops more. A deal is also mandatory. GL

I usually pick whoever has the cheapest prices and 98%+ positive feedback... ask them if they'll repack it for you before you bid.

I may be able to help. This is what I bought recently on eBay in the last few weeks. All were new in the box and via Buy It Now except for one:

SRAM RED Double Tap Shifters 2011 $378/Free Shipping Seller: theracksource
SRAM Force Front Derailleur, 34.9 Clamp-On 2010 $39.99/$6 Shipping (auction) Seller: velosoul
SRAM Force Rear Derailleur, Short Cage 2010 $114.90/Free Shipping Seller: the_bikesmiths
SRAM Rival Front/Rear Brakes 2011 $89.50/Free Shipping Seller: wheelandsprocket
FSA SL-K Light Compact Crankset 50/34 175 w/ MegaExo BB $299/$9 Shipping (best offer) Seller: ediscountbike.com
KMC X10SL Ti-N Gold Chain $41/Free Shipping Seller: honeylove-2009
YOKOZUNA Reaction Brake/Shifter cables/housings $45.95/$6 Shipping (best offer) Seller: bicyclestuf

Most, if not all, of these sellers appear to be bike shops and not individual private sellers, they all had great feedback ratings, and everything I bought shipped out quick. Hope this helps.

OBGYN here, and in India I feel sorry for anaesthetists. They are just overworked [and under paid unlike in the US].

I recently built up a bike and bought items from these 3 ebay retailers: ediscountbike, buildyourbike and eurobikeparts.

Had no issues with any of them but one of the rear brakes from eurobikeparts had a problem with the spring. I emailed them and received a response the same day and a tracking number for the replacement part that night. Item arrived a few days later with a prepaid return postage label. That's pretty good customer service from an ebay retailer IMO.

Sounds good, but by the time I get the stuff in my hands in India, will be 3-4 weeks after they have been delivered to the local US address.

I guess I'll just have to take my chances.

I bought my components (6700)from BC Multisport (https://www.bcmultisport.com/) and Bike Nashbar. No affiliation.
Great prices (lower than ebay occasionaly), fast shipping, great customer service. Worth the little bit extra (if anything) for peace of mind.

To avoid the obscene customs duties into India?

What level of SRAM components are you looking for? RED, Force, Rival?

Incidentally, if you are looking for Rival shifters, Bonktown frequently has them up for sale for $219/set.
