Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: Specialized.... schwinn..... enough to fill my needs..

So when you're on a group ride and the guy riding one of these doesn't want to pull... just pull out the Bic and give him the sinister look.

+1. A true roadie, given that he's from the home of the McLaren F1 with two Brit drivers.

Take a $2000 Renovo, slap an Audi sticker on the down tube and charge $7000. Awesome. I thought only Harley Davidson got away with scams like that.

What takes the cake is the bike stand their listing at $270! Pass the word to all the steel and Ti custom builders that their scrap tubes are worth their weight in gold.

The cheapest Renovo FRAME is $1500 and that is bare bones. Most are $3k and up. I can understand you not liking them but know your **** before you make accusations.

I love my A4 wagon. And if I won the lottery today, I'd be at the Audi dealer tomorrow to pick up an R8 Spyder. That said, I hate that Audi bike.

I have never driven an Audi that I didn't like, but for that kind of money they need to at least make it 2WD :-)

I love Renovo. If I had the money I'd get one. My point was that even if we say that a complete bike is $3K...all Audi is doing is slapping their logo on it and more than doubling the price. Seriously, Renovo is my dream bike.

Audi would be far better off spending their time making their cars more reliable. Nice cars but make sure you live next door to the dealer.

this might be true for older Audis, but apparently in the mid/early 2000's they DID spend some time and money on quality assurance/control. I bought one of the first A3's in America (2005) and I've never had any mechanical problems with it. None of my friends who own recent model Audi's have had any issues either. I've owned a lot of Acuras and Hondas, but the A3 is by far the best car i've ever owned. I did own an Infiniti q45 once.... THAT car was back at the dealer every month or two. got rid of that one quick.

OH, and american made cars... you can have them.

It's just my experience, but I think it's a boring old myth that german cars have inherent problems. I'll drive a car from Ingolstadt any day.

Autos and bikes should have different names. A Ford bike or Edsel bike no, its only the cool name
cars that have a bike named for them. That doesn't make them as good as the car might be.
Example: I had a Carrera as a kid, not Porsche but Vista.Thirty nine pounds of steel and cast iron.

I don't see any wood in this Audi bike...

As far as aesthetics go, the Renovo TT bike prototype looks pretty amazing.

I wonder how the ride is. But honestly, the $4,600 Renovo road bike is in range of what many people pay for a carbon road bike with DA and nice wheels, so it doesn't seem out of reach to me. The Audi one's do seem marked up considerably over the Renovo's, not to mention the whole marketing package by Audi seems thin and full of snot. "Features no fenders and thin tires?" Ok...

(edit: and the more I look at it, the more I would love to ride it and see how it feels...if the ride is excellent, I can see a value in hardwood as a frame material. It looks like a beautiful guitar)
