Bikes: a heavy old steel Frankenbike Gitane, a cruiser (not something I'd buy for myself, but it was a gift, what can you do?), a Greg Lemond, a Specialized Stumpjumper(old, steel, fully rigid), and a Specialized Safire
*sigh* Alright, guess I'm saving up for a Garmin 500... It comes in black, right?

I like the Macbook Pro Idea, but yeah, killer wind drag. Seriously though, I've seen a couple people with their iPhones mounted on their bars.

Yes, it does come in grey/black, but when I bought it 6 months ago, I couldn't find it bundled. Since I didn't want the grey/blue version, I had to find each component separately and spend an extra $20 or so, but it was worth it. The bundle might be available in grey/black now. You will enjoy all the data it provides.

Garmin FR60 watch for $103 on amazon WITH ant+ heartrate: https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Lilac-F...3788055&sr=8-4
Garmin GSC-10 speed/cadence ANT+ sensor for $35: https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Speed-C...3788097&sr=1-1
Those 2 will give you all the functionality of the Garmin Edge 500 bundle pack, except no GPS, no powermeter support, and a smaller wrist watch type display.
You'll still get heartrate and logged files that can be uploaded to websites to analyze the whole workout.
Plus down the line if you ever have to have an Edge 500, you'll already have all the sensors you need since its all ANT+ stuff.

So I noticed while looking at Amazon that I can buy an Edge 500 for $250, a Garmin speed/cadence sensor for about $32, and a Garmin heart rate monitor strap for about $35-40. All that totals roughly 25 bucks less than buying the entire package together for $350.
Am I missing something here? Why would I spend more on the package when I can buy the individual components separately?
Also found the Edge 500 on ebay for a fair amount less...but rumor is there may be warranty issues if you have a problem with it, because it's not an authorized dealer. Is that the same with an Amazon purchase?
