I didn't want to do hill repeats today. I was actually happy that the storm hit early and I was only able to do two of them instead of five or six. :o

I habitually use my road bike to get the mail, less than 20 yards down my driveway.

If the neighbors are out, I make sure to sprint there and back, skidding hard into a slide stop.

I checked the mail last Sunday.

It's science.

I also do this habitually, though never in that context! Jeep Wranglers benefit from drafting sustantially.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Wrangler !! But man, their aerodynamic profile is unfortunately similar to that of a brick.

And I'm totally going to get one eventually anyway.

I confess that I initially read the last line that you forgot rim tape but had a couple of extra tubes...of rim tape! I thought "what kind of rim tape comes in tubes?"

It's probably not your fault because I had it too :)

I still jump when wankers in diesel trucks buzz me on my solo rides. Then it takes me a moment to calm down. Then I think hard about flipping them off... until they crest the next hill and it's too late.

Best to not respond at all. It's like trolls on a forum, any response at all just encourages them.

I know, and you never know whether the buggers are bigger than you.

[British slang beats the censors!]

I don't know, nor care, how much my bike weighs.

caloso 06-22-11 05:03 PM

I was doing 2x30' intervals the other morning and picked up wheelsuckers on both legs. Per BF custom, I'm supposed to get all huffy about it, but I was too focused on keeping my wattage steady to care.

ahsposo 06-22-11 05:14 PM

I haven't had a big mean dog chase me in a long time.

Boy, I miss the excitement.

Jay-W 06-23-11 02:29 AM

I had a little dog chase me the other day and I was too tired to care. Even though I had just left my driveway.

I enjoy riding a 1987(?) Fuji Tivoli, maybe more than I enjoy riding my new fancy schmancy bike. The Tivoli is girly teal and pink and has toe strap pedals I took off my 1984 Schwinn (until payday). I like it any way. My riding partners won't ride with me when I'm on it. Oh, also - I crashed it the other night. Rode into sand, stalled, couldn't get out of the straps, schlonk. Don't you want to ride with me? Oh who will ride with me?

I purchased a set of ENVE 45 mm carbon clinchers, with Alchemy ELF front and Tune 180 rear hubs. Should weigh about 1320 grams. I didn't tell my wife. They arrive today, boy is she going to be surprised!

I covet your wheels.

I was just looking at Excel's Enve 45s. 150g heavier. My wife wouldn't understand.

LowCel 06-23-11 09:12 PM

I have absolutely no need for another bike, yet I am still talking to an online shop about a new toy.

RedViola 06-23-11 09:41 PM

I spend more time thinking about Fabian Cancellara's glutes than is healthy for a man of my sexual orientation.

Velo Vol 06-23-11 10:08 PM

I ate a big piece of carrot bread tonight.

YokeyDokey 06-24-11 12:36 PM

Even if I do dream about a woman, no matter what she is wearing she is riding a Bruce Gordon.

I watch videos of my cycling trips on my blackberry while taking a dump.

While I find that appalling enough, I'm so glad you didn't take that the way I thought you might.
