I own three long-sleeve high-end cycling jerseys that I can't imagine actually riding in. They are warm, but don't cut the wind, and the feel of wool on the skin isn't for me at all.

I do, however, often wear them when in reality, though more formal attire is in order, but I think I look retro-hip in my wool jersey used as a sweater. That's how cool I am. Or how cool I think I am.

I don't shave my legs when I'm at college running for the XC and Track teams. I do shave my legs all summer.

I am a Fred.

what kind of times do you get without legs?

Roobay_today 10-24-13 04:56 PM

I wear a camel back on a road bike, and it is a knock off brand.

I stuff leftover cycling socks down my shorts to enhance my package.

I like to think I'm the fastest no-legged kid in the midwest.

Haha, caught me. Fixed.

The only thing I do for bike maintenance is clean my chain. And it's never actaully clean. I get chain tattos all the time.

Well, I guess I broke my own rule. I wore dress pants, oxford shirt, and a tie the last time I was on my Ridley.

I have to ask: What kind of shoes?

woodcraft 10-27-13 12:52 PM

When I see a hot girl with a nice bike, I sometimes check out the bike more than the girl.

I have wished for a flat so I could stop and rest.

On that day, dress shoes. Ultegra pedals work passably as platforms for short trips, as long as you have rubber soles. I would not recommend doing it with leather soles.

It's annoys me that after years of avid cycling, whenever I'm faster than someone older than me (who may be very strong), it's because "i'm young".

dalameda 11-09-13 07:06 PM

For the win: I rode 1/2 of the ride this morning with my bibs inside out, and no one in the group noticed, including me.

The more interesting story is how did you change them to the right side out?

jackss731 11-10-13 09:51 PM

Sometimes I wish my bike was heavier.

TexMac 11-10-13 10:06 PM

I faked sickness twice so I would not get dropped again by my cycling group at work.

That's just wrong. Seek therapy.

In a group ride, you wish the flat on someone else.

You think that might not be a factor?

TexMac 11-10-13 10:20 PM

Bought my wife Louis Vuitton bag worth $3k to justify spending twice that amount on my bikes

I'm not sure because I'm not 50 but sometimes It's cool to recognize all the hard work that has gone into it in such a short amount of time. I've been riding for a year and I am just as fast if not faster than someone who, even though is 25 years older, has been riding for 30 years longer. While I don't really mind it when they say stuff like that, I could see where he is coming from. Another thing, while in most of the cases I am faster they suffer from less pains than I do after a long ride. My body is not used to all this activity while theirs (I believe) has gotten acclimatized through the years.

I like pink. The color, not the singer.

Well there were no payphone booths available, so I had to use the bathroom at the coffee shop where we had stopped. (P.S. for the package enhancers - I'm talking to you dudelsack - try doing what I did. Having the padding on the outside really makes it look large)

t.braxt 11-12-13 11:09 AM

I keep my bike near my bed and spin the wheel just to hear the sound while laying down.

HA! Me too! Done that for years. Seems to help when I'm sick.
