Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Carbon bars torque specs?

I got a pair of Carbotec carbon bars. The manufacturer is apparently in Taiwan, and they don't have a Web page.

I'd like to install these but was warned to avoid over-tightening the stem cap screws. The bars are not marked with any kind of specifications.

Is it safe to assume that the specs on the stem cap screws (5 Nm) is OK for any bars that one might install?

Thanks in advance. BTW if anyone can provide the specs for Carbotec GCB230 bars, I'd appreciate it.

Stem specs are fine. Make sure there are no burrs or sharp edges if it's a machined stem.
