As far as underpants that defeats the benefit of your bike shorts and should not be used.

Honey and menthol? Sounds sweet and wild.
Honey works for me. Try it. Nobody has to know and you got nothing to lose. Preferably the local kind. Do it several times tho', so the skin gets used to it. Do some research on honey.
