Really good comments of all opinions talking about lots of different options and theories on here. Love it! I wear Patagonia's no chafe wicking stuff.

As far as underpants that defeats the benefit of your bike shorts and should not be used.

Honey works for me. Try it. Nobody has to know and you got nothing to lose. Preferably the local kind. Do it several times tho', so the skin gets used to it. Do some research on honey.
