Should I Shave ?

I've got a big lull between races, like more than a month, should I keep up with the shaving ?

rolliepollie 05-26-11 06:46 AM

I'm thinking of shaving my bum. My hairy butt is starting to chafe...
Wait, what are you shaving?!

topflightpro 05-26-11 07:00 AM

Yes. It's easier to keep shaving than to not.

Funny thing for me is that I have almost no reason to shave my legs.... higher up is a different story....

sharrn 05-26-11 07:03 AM

NO. I'm sure this is a completely off subject reply. But, shaving is horrendous. I'm most certainly a fred and I am a Beardist. I am looking for a new job since their anti-beards.

Karma007 05-26-11 08:10 AM

Waxing lasts longer.

Smallguy 05-26-11 08:11 AM

I shaved for a crit this weekend

I don't expect to crash but since Crits are a common place for one I figured the clean up would be easier

Heck no. 70s porn style all the way.

I heart VG.

I haven't shaved since my last race. I look like a wookie.

urbanknight 05-26-11 08:32 AM

Are you going to be completely off the bike during that month?

ScottStr 05-26-11 08:36 AM

I never race. I'm fat and slow. I'm also clumsy so I shave regularly. Once the hairs grow longer they clog the razor. If I go more than a month without shaving I use spray on hair remover to get started again.

if i don't shave, would i start harnessing hair power like our resident wookie?

Makel 05-26-11 08:57 AM

I'm thinking about not waxing anymore and going a la frenchie.

Makel 05-26-11 08:57 AM

Was that politically incorrect?

Hida Yanra 05-26-11 10:29 AM

you must always shave, how will people know you are a good cyclist otherwise?
Seriously, I can tell 87% of the time from a first glance how good someone is on a bicycle by looking at their calves and seeing if they shave or not.

If you don't shave, I won't take you seriously at all - neither will any of the other racers around here.

caloso 05-26-11 10:37 AM

If you don't shave, how will I know to wave at you?

DataJunkie 05-26-11 10:42 AM

Slow day?

rbart4506 05-26-11 10:45 AM

Screw with them...Only shave one leg...or the top half of one, bottom half of the other...

tagaproject6 05-26-11 10:46 AM

Shave

Trick question. Never wave.

itchyfinger 05-26-11 11:07 AM

Shave dat. Don't forget your toes.

That made me chuckle :)
I think stripes would make quite a statement.

pgjackson 05-26-11 11:21 AM

Yes, make a statement. Stripes, stars, swirlies, numbers...why be normal?

I used to think this... until I lined up at a race and the hairy dude won... then I saw him the next week, and he lapped the field solo. Turns out good mountain bikers don't always shave but can be real strong. But for the most part if you don't shave you're not on my "watch list" until you prove otherwise!
