Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Great pics. For all you Lynskey owners that may have owned carbon bikes previously....is the ride quality of the Lynskey noticably better on rough roads? Will the Lynskey R230 rear triangle fit 25c tires?
Thanks.

Yup. Not sure if you can do it through a dealer as well, but calling direct works.

I have a cooper and there is room for a 25c. As for ride, that depends on the bike. The cooper is supposedly a stiffer ride than the R230, but compared to my previous Fuji 08 CCR3 carbon and 09 Giant Defy Alliance, the ride is WAY smoother yet its stiff. My previous carbon bikes were way way too buzzy, my hands would go numb within the first 30 minutes. I could ride the lynskey all day and not get that buzzy feel. Now compared to my 2010 Tarmac, the ride quality and smoothness is the same, but the Tarmac somehow has a hollow feel to it, while the Cooper has a more solid feel. The Tarmac being a much stiffer bike. I ride the cooper more than the Tarmac.

I'll need some time. Triathlon has purged my body of any fast-twitch muscle fibers. I need to get back into crit shape before I try to represent titanium.

Interesting. I'm 6'2, but again long legs/short torso. Your stem looks quite a bit shorter than what I'll be running too (I'll have a 120mm stem on my R230).

I love Ti, that I can trash it, ride it in anything and 8 years later it still gleams.

Oh, the build is coming together, oh yes it is....

Zipp Service Course SL bar, stem, and post have arrived and are anxiously awaiting their new home.

A new addition to the plan -- a pair of Zipp 101's -- are also on the way. Not only a fine pair of wheels, but gray with white decals to match the titanium goodness.

All that remains is figuring out whether it's going to be Force or Rival for the drivetrain.

AND, as an added bonus, the good folks at Lynskey told me today that they're way ahead of schedule on fabrication, and my frame has moved on to finishing--that means it should ship out in the next couple days! Woohoo!!!

I may be showing my age, but this is going to be one hot build--to rival the Pinarello of yore for sure.

Just got the Zipp 101s. I didn't do enough research. When I bought them for some reason I thought they were painted black. The gray metal looks pretty nice though.

I like the way they ride, too

I've been running them at 100 PSI rather than 110 or 115 which I used to use, and so far no issues. Nice smooth ride, and I definitely notice how nice they are on descents.

Well, slight change of plans. The 101's are backordered everywhere, and after talking to the guys at CC they talked me into giving the Ksyrium K10's a shot--can't beat the price either, with their $799 sale. They'll look pretty nice on this build and Ksyriums have always been solid wheels. When I need aero I'll just go to the 808s.
