Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Seeing that picture, makes me want to see green again. This winter has been terrible. Someone said going to get more snow and colder temps this coming week. So tired of it.

Counts in my book!

It was 70° here yesterday and there was still a ton of ice on the river... kinda funny!

I took a ride down to Long Beach Island, NJ today. It was nice enough out to sit and eat lunch on the beach before heading home again.

I've put fenders on it since this ride (really could've used them with all the melting snow).

We broke 40 yesterday so I took my "new" Fuji out on its maiden voyage yesterday. I have to say this steel framed bike is like riding on a cloud compared to my old aluminum Motobecane.

Here it is next to two forms of water.

It was so windy I thought it was going to get blown over when I was taking the picture.

Edit: for contrast here is the same location last year on 5/5/13 (with my old bike).

Machka- My brother just returned from a month in Australia with his son, down there for some sailboat races. They spent the time camping and going from beach to beach surfing every day. Said it was awesome though hotter than blazes.

Up on the mainland it was quite hot during the summer, but it has cooled significantly.

Where in Australia? (It's a big place. )
