Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Go into the pub for a beer and leave without having a beer (went straight to liquor) but picked this up instead and returned home...

Nope. Nothing like that ever happened to me.

only when they drop the prices, I bet that one you have had about 2 g's knocked off. Got my tarmac basic edition for 2k instead of 2700.

Wow... I can imagine trying to explain that.

Me: "Honey, I'm going to stop at the bike shop on the way home from work."
Her: "Why?"
Me: "Just need to pick up a tire."
Her: "How many tires do you need? You're always buying tires. What do you want for dinner?" <---she asks me every day and I always say "I don't care."
<return home and talking over dinner>
Her: "So did you get a tire?"
Me: "No, not exactly..."
Her: "What does that mean?"
Me: "They had a really good deal on a new bike...so I uh, bought it."
Her: "How much?"
The rest of the discussion would NOT go well and might be NSFW or the interwebz.

If you're going to make an impulse buy make it worthwhile.

Nice WHOOOSSSHH.

I went to pro-shop to change one grip, walked out with a new set of irons.

I went into the LBS for new bar tape for my 20+ year old Holdsworth, walked out with my bmc pro-machine.

One thing in common with both events, my wife talked me into both purchases. She's my sponsor (or as addicts call it "enabler").

Wow, and I thought I was impulsive. Can't say I've ever done that.

Nope, can't say I've ever upgraded a purchase like that. The lack of money in my bank account puts a serious damper on stuff like that.

I mean, I've walked into Trader Joe's looking for one or two things and end up with a brimming cart... Does that count?

That's how I ended up with my S2. Bike shops are a dangerous thing.

Nice ride, can't wait to see the build.

Fuji? I thought there was a Lynskey and a couple of bmcs. WHOOOSSHHH is a one man stimulus package.

I wish I had the kind of cash laying around it would require for me to be able to do that. Nice rig though! Even if it is the wrong brand

Sweet bike.

Nope, doesn't happen to me. I take a few months and a whole bunch of visits before I buy... and money isn't the issue, just a self justification thing.

Oh, have them throw in a couple of extra tires so this doesn't happen again!
