Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What do people think about all white cycling club/team kits for summer?

Jerseys fine. All white shorts...no. White side panels are acceptable although violate one of those often cited cycling rules published somewhere.

Why do you think Caucasian cycling teams need special treatment?

I don't think I would get a race kit in white. Racing is not a fair weather game, if it rains you might as well be nakkid. My summer training kit has white bibs. I wouldn't wear them on a group ride but on solo training rides in the summer I effin love em.

I must say this has to be one of the stupidiest BF rules. In FL, white shorts are pretty popular all year round, although black still dominates. While riding in France last year, I also noticed they were pretty popular. However, they are the devil's tool if you are in BF LOL.............

Very true for jerseys, white and light colors are much cooler in FL. However, I find it hard to balance the cooling properties of white shorts to the dangers of being caught in afternoon thunderstorms nearly every day and committing a much more serious fashion faux pas/wardrobe malfunction.

I guess I thought it was pretty much common sense that I was referring to shorts/bibs with some other color covering the front or back side. I guess even if it wasn't, I'm not that concerned about it. Not that I'm a porn star or stripper on the making, but I really could care less about it. Common sense would also dictate that I would probably not wear white if I think I will get caught in rain as it gets extremely dirty and it becomes very hard to wash off.

There are some guys riding around in black shorts so worn out or with such gaping holes that if they were wearing all white bibs in a downpour I would probable be able to see much less anyway!

It all depends on the material. Castelli...no way. I tried on a pair and you can see all the way through to my shorts.

I have a pair of Rock Racing ones and you cannot see through them at all.
