Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

ask them what specifically about squats damages knees.

go to startingstrength.com and get some feedback from rippetoe.

general physicians and surgeons are not specialists in strengthening "knees".

i would be very interested to hear them explain how to correctly do squats, and then explain how squats are bad for the knees.

i bet breast milk is bad, and ritalin is great.

They know my knees pretty well. Bone on bone and multiple meniscus tears. I think I'll stick with their advice not offense. Following it has gotten me 75 lbs lighter in a year along with the ability to walk again without pain (for the most part). Not to mention that I managed to knock out almost 250 miles on the bike this past weekend pain free. Wel,l except for the pain from the test saddle I was trying out.
