My skull must be a weird size. I tried the medium and the large and couldn't get the thing to fit right :-(

Ive been wearing a Catlike for the last couple of years. I also have a Giro Atmos and a Specialized S-Works hanging around somewhere. The S-Works fits nice but seems prone to accumulating sweat on the brow of the helmet. The Atmos fits okay but seems kind of flat in the middle (On my head), its still comfortable to wear tho. The Catlike runs small.. I have a large and it barely fits my American head. I think all of the european helmets have this same issue.

I just bought a couple of pink Atmos's to go with the Pinarellos.. they'll probably become our new helmet of choice.

Everyone's egg is different. I recently tried out a Giro Transfer (lower end, maybe the lowest, but still works for what it is) after riding Bell for the past five years. Giro squeezes my head in weird places, while Bell fits like it was cast to my cranium. Helmets are a personal thing, so try them on before buying. And I agree with the wayward bee comment - that helmet you posted looks like it would attract anything that flies within range of your dome.

I have a small noggin and the small fits me very well. Fit is obviously a personal thing.

Yeah, those that can wear the pro light with such little ability to adjust it are pretty lucky. It is a nice helmet.

Same with me. Giro does something wierd with sizing. My head is considered average for my 6' height. According to Giro size charts I'm right at the upper end of the medium and lower end of large - so neighter fits right

I was specifically referring to the pro light, my Ionos fits like a glove. I love it.

I use the Bell Volt and like it because it's well vented and the retention system works well. You can use a $30 helmet and it will protect your head but it won't be as well vented as a higher end model so it all depends on what a person's priorities and budget happens to be. Either way wearing a helmet is something I always do after getting into an accident where I split my helmet in two but protected my noggin.

Tried a Giro and hate it because their helmets hurt my head. Got a Bell Array and it fits perfectly and comfortable. $100

Glad it's not just me with the superior fit of the Bellmet. The Giro isn't bad, but with the Bell I don't even know it is there.

except that it isn't less. It is designed more efficiently to allow bigger spaces. Giro's have an internal skeleton to provide the same protection in a lighter more vented system.

current Specialized decibel.. good retention system, comfortable, moderate vents. mid priced. discontinued

soon to be current Ionos.. great retention system, comfortable, great vents. slightly more than Decibel was on sale.

I like the Giro line. I have the Pneumo which is heavy. Currently using a Prolight and Advantage 2. GL

The Giro stuff all fits different.. or at least it used to. The Ionos fits nothing like the Atmos. The Atmos I can feel on the top of my head. I guess my head is too flat or something. Didnt notice it with the Ionos.

Definitely want to try the helmets on before you buy.

Weight and fit is an issue unless you ride sitting up in the wind.

Just put about 30 miles on the new Giro Aeon. I forgot about it, which is the best compliment I can give a helmet. Just barely fit into the Medium size. Much less concentrated pressure on my forehead than the Lazer Helium I was using, what a relief!

Bell and Giro, owned by the same company. Not sure if they are made at the same factories. I tried on several Bell's and Giro's and the one thing I didn't like about both of them are the way the straps are twisted. They don't lay flat on the side of your face and they are very uncomfortable for me. I ended up with a middle-of-the-road Specialized helmet (around $75.00). Since I have not owned a Bell or a Giro, I can't tell you if mine is cooler or not, but it fits better and the straps are not uncomfortable like the Bell's and Giro's. I live in Florida and it gets very hot and muggy and I don't seem to have a problem with the ventilation on the Specialized.
