Yep. 'Tis where I go to school.
There's some good places to ride. The Freedom/Stone Mountain Trail begins near Georgia Tech and goes to Stone Mountain. Fairly flat trail, and only crowded through Freedom Park. It's about a 43 mile round trip if you go around Stone Mountain when you get there.
There's also the Silver Comet Trail, which heads west toward and into Alabama. It used to be a railroad line. A very flat course, but lots of beautiful scenery.
Then you've got the Arabia Mountain trail. I haven't actually ridden this one, but I'm dying to try it when I get back to Atlanta this fall. It goes through a nature preserve, and is supposedly somewhat hillier than other trails.
Finally, you can just ride around Atlanta if you want to, but there's a lot of traffic. Not necessarily fast traffic -- but you need to be paying attention. I usually ride by Piedmont Park and then take Highlands. It loops all the way back to GA Tech and turns into Baker Street near Centennial Olympic park.

From GA-400 North, turn LEFT onto Hwy-60 and proceed 5 miles to Dahlonega's public square. From the Square, follow the signs for Highways 60 North, 19 North, and Bus 19 North, taking a LEFT onto Bus 19 (Grove Street) at the traffic light, about two blocks from the Square. You will pass Lumpkin County Middle School (overflow parking for the Ride). Lumpkin County High School will be less than three miles from the Square - follow signs for parking through the back entrance of the school.
The Six Gap Century’s ultra challenging route takes you up and down six of the steepest climbs in the North Georgia Mountains. Test your stamina with more than 11,200 feet of vertical climbing over the 104 mile course. Elevations for the six gaps in this ride range from 1,400 feet to 3,460 feet. The toughest climb, Hogpen Gap, will test even the strongest riders, averaging a 7% grade for seven miles, with sections as steep as 15%.
The Three Gap Fifty’s alternative route offers half the gaps and half the distance, but is nevertheless a demanding and challenging course at 58 miles. Elevations range from 1,400 feet to 3,364 feet.
100 miles. 11,200 vertical feet

Buckhead, a place called Taco Mac's. Best wings in north america. Then walk around the corner to "Ther Dessert Place" and get chocolate cheesecake. All of this should be performed while impaired. Taco Mac's has an encyclopedia of beer. Literally. Lots -0- beer.....
have fun!!
