Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A few updates, etc

Hey guys,
I felt compelled to post here since both of my threads were closed for probably good reason. Anyways, I got a new road saddle, a white Endzone/Velo one from eBay. It's a bit stiffer but I feel it does a very nice job for the less than 20.00 I spent on it. I have nearly 400 miles on the fuji so far, about 13,400 burnt calories, and 1400 fat calories burned. I have to say I quite enjoy riding the bike in complete silence and all the gears working. The roads have gotten a little better since I have experience avoiding traffic, etc. It seems like the addage is true that where you look you will go. I think that's why cars are always nearly clipping me is because they are watching me and not the road in front, so they curve towards me. I found that to be true when I just stood there trying to attact attention at the side of the road, a few cars geared my way and then went back in teh middle. So I try to avoid that by just looking straight and down on my pathway.

So you spent money on a saddle when I was going to give a nice one for free.. hmmmm. $20 bucks less to spend on fish food but whatev. I'm sorry, you just 'stood there' to see if traffic would move towards you? yo Darwin, you got an award to pass out cuz I think we have a winner.

Dude , whatever works for ya.. but please stop the stupid posting.. lemme edit this post and FTFY...
Hey guys,
got a new saddle. Been riding hard. Traffic sucks but I lost some weight. Just checkin in.
See that's a good post right there.

peace

so you didn't raise the $90 you needed for your triathalon? Any road races coming up? Did you find a group ride sponsored by your lbs?

I don't think it's MPD. His writing tone and voice is quite similiar to his two previous topics.

It does appear that Justin discovered the magic of capital letters. Or is that capitol? I can never remember.

You know those cars that swerved toward you and almost hit you?

Maybe the drivers of those cars were BF members...
