Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Does this forum make your computer freeze up?

Every time I get on here, my computer keeps freezing up. I keep getting the spinning wheel (Mac), then it's OK, then I scroll down a thread a bit and it freezes up again. Only on this site. Any ideas?

Mine is fast as all get out (IE7 on Windows XP), but it loads quite a few ads. The first thing I would try is another browser.

Haven't really noticed, but I doubt it's your computer.

Bikes: Some bikes. Hell, they're all the same, ain't they?

Get Click2Flash and see if that works. Ads? We (users) don't need no stinkin' ads!

Doesn't free, but the page will refuse to load (giving like a 404 error/timeout) freqently. a refresh seems to solve the problem temporarily.

1.4 GHZ Macbook Air running Chrome. It's annoying, especially when I have several BF tabs open.

Not on my five-year-old iMac. Mac OS X 10.6.8, and I use Safari. I only get the beach ball slowdown when I'm using many other apps along with Safari. The problem might be with a glitch in Safari. Google "beach ball Mac Safari" and you might find a solution.

I have a Garmin Edge 305 mhz so it freezes up a little. I might upgrade to the 800 mhz version when I get the cash.

I have vista with a duel core processer and there is a short spining wheel wait when you go to a different page, but works fine when you scroll down the page

No, but a couple of the cretins who joined us for the Tour make me wish it did. This is mainly directed at the Pro Racing for the Fans forum BTW. Not the fine, intelligent repartee we enjoy here on the 41.

Are you a premium member? It may be those advertisements I've heard about.

No problems on my 27" iMac.

Bikes: Too many to count

If you block the US Cellular ad it will be fine. That thing
is about the same as a full length HD movie.
