Finding a Team
I live in Denver CO, and I have wanted to start riding for a team for a long time. The problem is, there are no strictly road cycling teams in my area. I'm 17, and I have no way to drive super long distances, (the closest team that I found remotely intriguing was based in Colorado Springs, about an hour south of Denver) There are no racing teams based in Denver, at least that I've found. I would really like to get involved in junior racing but a team is necessary. If you live in the Denver area, and know of a team that is looking for riders, or you know of a team that is nation wide, with a chapter in Colorado, your feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks

There are lots of racing teams based in the Denver area. Off the top of my head:
Black Key Bulls (my team, tho I'm an inactive member due to recent fatherhood at the moment.)
Zilla/Psimet (sponsored in part by BF's very own Psimet.)
Denver 38
Primal
several others based on the number of team jerseys I saw at races last year
do some google searching.
Also, checking out the thursday night "practice crits" at the Colorado State Patrol training course in Golden would be a great way to get to meet various team folks. They're supposed to be a great into to racing, and they let you back in if you get dropped.

I have been googling, but the only one I find is Team USA. Do those teams you mentioned have junior programs?

Try this:
https://www.americancycling.org/results/road
and under Events, select Junior Criterium or Road events.
Search local Denver college websites. They may have clubs and races too/

Ah. I'm 35 years old, so I'm afraid I have no idea about the junior scene. I know that the vast majority of the events I see have junior categories, so there must be something going on...
