Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Old Lance Commercial: What are you on?

There is an old Lance Armstrong commercial that I've been looking for, for a long time now. In this commercial there is video of Lance (supposedly) riding his bike around, no place in particular, but the voice-over goes on to say "people want to know what I'm on." (referring to doping) Lance continues, "I'm on my bike 6 hours a day busting my ass, what are you on?" I may have that quote a LITTLE wrong, but it's pretty close.

I'm wondering if anyone knows this commercial? and if you know of someplace I can either get the script (wording in the commercial) or the video someplace online.

Thanks in advance,
Ron

Try AdCritic but you have to pay to access the video. Yes, the irony has not escaped me.

JB, I was watching an interview or something with lance several weeks (months?) ago and they were talking about all the pressure put on Lance and doping, especially back in 1999. They didn't say much about this commercial, but instead they just showed about a 10 second clip where he says "some people wonder what I am on. What am I on? I'm on my bike 6 hours a day busin' my ass...what are you on?" That's all I heard, and from what I remember they only showed the VERY last portion of the commercial, where he pulls into a driveway. This commercial stuck with me since that day, and of course I just had to find it.

Tommy, SUPER motivational, I am not in super great shape (a bit over weight, and generally out of shape), so little things like this help.

There are a few other Lance commercials out there, if you are interested, shoot me a private message and I will send them your dir.

Ciao,
Ron

love the one where he rides with buffalo and waves at the kids at the cancer ward. May be the best commercial I ever saw; and the only one that made me think... Gee, I'd like to see that in a theater.

My favourite is the one where he leads the pack through the forrest down some singletrack. Kinda prophetic considering stage 9 of the 2003 TdF.

I was reminded of that commercial on one of my weekly rides last summer when the ride leader decided to take us on a shortcut through the forrest.

Not to rag on your ron8o but it's probably better to link to the guys page with the videos instead of just leeching it.

I.E https://www.bio.cmu.edu/~bts/biking/clips.html

That commercial where he goes flying through the forest is there as well.

Nike also did a poster with that quote on it that is selling now on ebay for well over $100!

THIS IS MY BODY. AND I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT TO IT. I CAN PUSH IT. STUDY IT. TWEAK IT. LISTEN TO IT. EVERBODY WANTS TO KNOW WHAT I'M ON. WHAT AM I ON? I'M ON MY BIKE BUSTING MY ASS SIX HOURS A DAY. WHAT ARE YOU ON?

Great quote, great commercial!

I love the Sportscenter commercial where Dan Patrick is working late and the lights go out, so he goes down to the utility room and lance is there wiping himself off with a towel sitting on his bike on a trainer and says, "Oh, sorry Dan, I thought everyone was gone for the night." and starts pedaling again and the lights come back on.

They're right, that IS the best sports commercial. I absolutely love the end where the kid on the 20" bike drafts Lance's rear wheel, and he looks back like it's nothing surprising to him .

I really like all of the USPS comerical with the whole team. I thought they did a good job incorporating the concept of what USPS does and their bike team. I guess those are done now and I have not seen any on the net. And why of why do you have to pay to download comerials?
