I'm up for Saturday, everything is cleared with my Social Coordinator, Houston, we are good to go.

1pm, Cafe Racer, correct? I hear it's gunna be 34 degrees on Sat. We're gunna fry our asses off. Please let there be a cool breeze off the bay...

This is gunna be so funny. I haven't ridden in a pack since 1993.

Screaming and the rasing of a middle digit means there's a pothole up ahead, right? :p

ed073 11-23-04 08:15 PM

stand by for 30 knot northerly on the way back.....lol!!

Cirrus 11-23-04 08:46 PM

Nah, I don't do the scuba diving ... I just watch with great interest what's in the catch bag!

Mind you, the gliding, flying & skiing (not all at once!) knocks a bit of a hole in the budget!

I'm really looking forward to riding in a bunch again ....

I'm still up for Saturday. I'm gunna start my ride at Le Nicks and then ride back to Port/St. Kilda with you blokes and then ride home again. It's about 18 k's to Le Nicks so this should take you blokes about 30 mins. This will give you time to make up 'pink girls bike' jokes.

Probably not this weekend, but maybe next. How far are you from Scarborough Beach?

I usually go down the coast to Cottesloe/Swanbourne with my wife on Sunday mornings (about 50km return), but I'll probably start going on Saturday mornings by myself to ride faster and longer. Do you have a circuit you ride regularly?

Another option is to join some of the group rides that take off from Bike Force in Subi or Glen Parker's in Nedlands.

left the city at 6am and was back in town 8.30, had a 25 knot easterly my bikes 10kg dry and im 75 kg which made things interesting from stirling highway bridge to canning bridge, the is wind usuall this time of year.Id rid'n a centry on friday which was quite warm, 4h's 20min.The great bike ride! Is that the one that was $25 entry for youth suiside? cause i was on a ride that turned out to be part of there course and was swamped by about 70 bikes ,felt like the TDF, and i was at the front of the bunch for about 5 minutes, soon towards the rear.Looks like a cool start to the w/end, and will be heading south to freo then pick up the sutherly then north to scoubrough.wooooohoo

The Great Bike Ride was pretty cool. They closed off the roads so bikes could use them exclusively. We even had one lane of the Kwinana Freeway to ourselves.

When you say century, you mean a metric century?

What bike do you have?

I've got a 2003 Pinarello Prince of which I am unworthy (I've had it for a couple of months and it's my first road bike.)

I also have an Avanti Blade flat bar road bike I use to commute (from Warwick to the city.)

Sounds like a sweet bike!good to own somthing that every one else isnt. which bike shop did you buy from? Im on a 2003 aloy frame roady TBE zeus $1000 catorgry sora gears, done 6700k'ms this year had wheels respoked under warranty no other problems.Had been riding a flatbar, hard tail kurrahara{from glen parker cycles} for a couple of years, have her ready for the mundabiddy trail which iv done kalamunda to jarradale section. I call the secton of bike path from warrick train station to lakemunga the goat track its that rough, have you got suspension on the avanti?a hairy night ride on that section. Accually usued that path last w/end as part of a circuit from home up the the coast to hilleris accross to the freeway then down to wembley 40k's round trip. The sealed path up to Iluka is is a good one, stop for a swimm if you want to.Do you mind ridding in the city?beware !coppers stopping cycist riding in the mall.

Suspension seatpost on the Avanti, but it handles the bumps along the cycle path a lot better than the Pinarello (prefer to use the Pinarello on the road anyway.)

The path along the coast can be pretty annoying due to the pedestrians. I prefer riding on West Coast Highway itself, but when I'm with my wife we use the path. Best part of the coast path is Scarborough to the end of City Beach.

What days do you usually ride?
