Anyone who has been following the 'Aussie Thread', (we're the Seinfeld of threads...the Thread about nothing!) might be aware that there are 1/2 dozen or so of us, who have come together through contact on bikeforums who live in the city of Melbourne in Oz. This weekend, we are planning to meet up for the first time for the 'Aussie thread @ Bike Forums Ride (AT@BFR) 1.00pm on Saturday 27th. Some of us got to thinking about how cool it would be if some of you seppo's, kiwi's & Poms got together for a ride in your cities as well at the same time (well local time, anyway!).......so how about it?. Who's in your area that you haven't met who is a regular contributor to the forums?.......hanging out to see what 'so & so' is really like?...whats his names avatar is interesting, whats he gunna be like?....maybe even 53-11 might come out of the closet & show you his 'big ring'. c'mon get organised, who knows where this might lead!....probably to some interesting new threads at the very least!

you wanna lift...seeing as you & I are travelling a zillion miles to ride with these guys!....We can put the scapin on the bike rack.......i'm gunna park at Pt.melbourne & mosey on down from there. Get there early for a cuppa, wear something totally different to what I tell 'em I'm gunna wear.......& sit back & people watch!...should be fun! :D

Sounds like a plan mate. I'm awating final confirmation that Saturday is clear of any social events from "she who must be obeyed".....will advise.

Just looked at the BOM, and it looks like there'll be a nice big high just disappearing into the pacific with very wide isobars. So if my weather reading is any good, it'll be a perfect day for riding on Saturday with very little wind and a nice temp. Bludy cricket. I'll have to get over this idea of "doing it for the team". :(

I'd be all for meeting up with some other Chicagoans. My leprosy prevents me though. :p Actually, it's getting on the cold side here now, so I'd just be happy with sitting down and having a few beers, or 16. :D

One bar, lots of alcohol and dreaming of spring :D Then of course the Clark St road race at 2:00 in the morning in January, obliterated off our a$$es, dodgin' cabs. :D "Honest officer, I don't know who put that beer in my water bottle cage..." Of course, nobody will respond to this. Chicagoans are relatively depressed nowadays. The Bears suck, the Bulls are worse, and the Cubs are forever going to be the Cubs (the White Sox, who???).

I'd really rather go for a ride in Oz. Might not need my lobster-style cold-weather gloves. But, the airfare for one afternoon would really piss of the wife. So, Rockland or Westchester it is.

Scratch one Ed!......but that obviusly means you'll be up for the Sunday morning ride with the Sunbury boys?......watta 'bout the rest of you blokes?......Tiger?, wattsy? SJP?, Cirrus?...or is it just gunna be me & some bloke on a Cervello?

I'm in training for that!! Unless a ride is pool table flat, I'll suffer like Eros Poli on the Ventoux....

ummmm......if you find a way out of Sunbury that is 'flat'...can you let me know!.....but seriously, you can do this....Sundays is pretty sedate, we've got a few '1st bike newbies' tagging along at the moment...so the pace isn't hard....(although we took 'em up the 'Razorback' (bacchus marsh, gisborne Rd) into the wind the other week....haven't seen any of those guys again!)

Cool....not sure if I can make this week (this family gig on Sat doesn't start till about lunchtime and they have a history of running late....[read: boozing...]) but I'm a defninte starter in a week or so....Pt Douglas has not been good to my girth. I put on 3kgs in 10 days!!

I'll see your 3kg.....& raise you the 5kg that I've put on since 'warnie'.....the 'pot' is mine !...(literally!)

I'm still a definite maybe ... the significant other is thinking about going scuba diving however ... and I'm definitely interested in any crayfish that might be caught!
