It's always funny to me when people without much money tells those of us who have some spare cash not to spend it. If not for us you'd have nothing to buy used on Criagslist and Ebay. You should be thanking and encouraging us (not that we need it). It also shows a clear lack of understanding of the human condition. Cheers

Unless your at least at the CAT3 racing level, what you get over $1000 is mostly bling. Of course it is nice to lust after those high end frames like you would a Ferrari sports car, but you know deep down that both are a complete waste of money. The money is better put toward wheels, shoes, and comfortable clothing to keep you comfortable riding longer in all types of weather.

Spoken like someone that doesn't know what the hell they're talkin' about. Nice!

+1.

Who's worthy of the Bugatti Veyron's 268MPH top speed?

You have no idea how much money some random poster to this thread has.

I think he, much like a lot of us, just gets sick of people saying bike equipment is "a waste of money." If the person spending the money enjoys what he bought with the money, why is it a waste?

True, I don't know exactly. But from some posts I've seen here it's not too hard to estimate. Hint: It's in the language. When I see numbers that cost only marginally more than a pair of Sidis then anything I'd suggest is either going to scare the crap out of them or fall on deaf ears. btw, I get it. Back in the 1980's, my first bike from Performance cost $250. My latest build cost 25x that. If I had told my 1980's self that I'd be spending that kind of money I'd have kicked my future self in the ntz.

Too much for a frame is n+1 with n being the amount that you feel the frame is worth to you.

If you have to ask the price...

Buying a new frame should sting a little . . . but not too much.
