Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

U Mad

New Mad Fiber carbon clinchers. 60mm front/66mm rear, 1200 grams. That works. The $3000 MSRP, not so much. Oh well. If you wanna play you gotta pay. Too bad they're so painfully fugly.

i can't understand why they went with an aluminum tire bed and a carbon brake track.

The soul C5.0 are all carbon, $1400, and just 200g heavier.

Doesn't look like that to me. Braking surface looks to be aluminum.

Nice that they are tubeless ready. Cool. Too expensive for my wallet, though...sadly. I want a set.

mad fiber wheels are the bomb!! a lbs down near Raleigh has some, and I checked 'em out. They literally float away!! I'd love to ride some, but can't do that without buying...........

In Weight Weenie Parlance, 'only' before '200 grams' is always incorrect.

The perfect compliment to Di2. You have to make up for the weight somewhere

Indeed. Why are wealth and taste so often inversely proportional?

If they could somehow clean up that spoke rim junction they'd look a lot better.

1200 grams isn't that bad. The Nexus hub I'm building right now for my commuter weighs 1700.

Well if you're going on weight alone, the price increase really isn't a great value.
But, still I take it back. 1200g for wheels that deep is very good.

Remove madfiber sticker, I doubt anyone will know what they are with the wheels moving.

Incorrect.

For 60mm carbon clinchers, 1200 grams is completely unprecedented, and that's 50 grams lighter than 58mm Zipp 404 tubulars.

I clicked on this thread thinking that I would see them with the Cervelo in front of a nice bench.

Ah! Them clinchers are finally out! Yep, my buddy has been eyeing these. He originally was going to get the tubulars, but after he was told that they are about to bust out with the clinchers, he was willing to wait. And it's been about 4 months now I think. I told him to invest the $3k on me instead so I can go ride with him.
