Keep on Kovers for Speedplays?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My Zero's are a f**cking pain in the a** once they get jamed up with mud / grass. Take the shoe off ... find a stick and try to clean out the cleat but often that even fails to clean the cleat well enough so that it will easily engage and disengage. It would seem this design would not prevent the cleat from getting jammed up with mud when walking. Just my 2 cents.

Bring along a Park Tool brush and it will clean out the bottoms of the Speedplay cleats. No matter what kind of covers, the park tool brush does the job.

I just bought a pair about a month ago because almost all of my rides end at a coffee shop.
So far so good. Slightly less slipping (although that was never a big problem) and a lot less clicking and clacking while walking around (which I also never considered a big problem). The main benefit for me will be cleat preservation.

Been using them since FEB last year. Won't be using any other cover for my SP. I recently bought a new shoe + SP Cleats + KOK. I also have the original speedplay covers somewhere collecting dust.

It's always great to read people's opinion especially when they've never tried something. I have these and they are nice. Wear well, easy to use, they stay put. You can't tell there on your feet at all. Must be whimpy riders if you worry about about something that might weigh as much as a shoe lace!!

I have the keep on covers and have been using them for a bit over a month.

They work as advertised. I used to wear speedplay cleats out before having the screw heads get worn was an issue, but then I started using these to protect the plastic adapter plate. They stay tight a lot longer now, so the screws became the critical wear item.

I bought these 2 months ago. First night I was on the covers, the left one came off. I was miraculously able to find it on the side of the road. 3 weeks later, the left one came off again, couldn't find it. Scott from Keep on Kovers was very kind to send me a replacement. But 2 weeks later it arrived, left fell off again. 2 weeks after that, the right one came off. No more kovers.

I'm fairly certain that Scott would keep sending replacements, especially since I bought the 4x durability version (most expensive) but I just bought a tube of Shoe Goo instead. While they weren't falling off, my cleats were definitely protected. The aluminium plate looked pristine. If only they stayed on...

They came off while riding? That seems unpossible unless your pedal came apart.

I've been using them for over a season now. My only beef is that I discovered during a crit that they reduce cornering clearance (had a pedal strike where the cover hit the ground). I just take them off for racing now.

Bikes: Time ADH01, Merlin Extra Light, Orbea Orca, Ritchey Outback,Tomac Revolver Mountain Bike, Cannondale Crit 3.0 now used for time trials.

I have been using the regular covers for my X-2s for 10 or 15 years now. They sometimes do come off and I suppose that some shoe goo would make them fit better. I do pop them on when walking on mud or loose dirt or when entering a store for snacks.

Presumably when stopped and unclicking at red lights, etc.

I didn't say they came off while riding... unclipping probably did it.

I tried these but they are a bit on the bulky side.
Then I got rid of my speedplay pedals.
