Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

knee surgery

Anybody out there have a surgery on their knee for tendonosis or tendonitis? If you did, how did it go? How long was the recovery. I have been battling with what has been diagnosed as tendonosis (dying patellar tendon). I have been battling with this thing for a good 6 months or so. Doctor says that a surgery may help, but only after I have decided I can't take it any more. The pain is not bad, but my knee is weak. Long car rides, cycling (sometimes), weights, and swimming can irritate it. The doc thinks it is a blood flow problem, not an inflammatory problem.

the knee is opened up completely--not arthroscopic.

maybe thats what i meant. I don't know, but sounds like it has a decent recovery time. my grandmother had both knees replaced...for a woman in her mid 70s she recovered rather quickly. it's definitely a question you should ask your doctor and follow his/her advice closely for your own benefit. Hope it all goes well! If anything you'll be good for the spring season!
