Favorite things
I read the article 101 best things about cycling in the January (I think...) issue of Bicycling, and I got to thinking, what are some of your favorite things about riding?
Mine are:
Waking up and seeing the inclement weather, and smiling
Beating your climb time by a substantial amount
Meeting a new person to ride with
Finding a new ride, that you love
Getting home right as the rain starts
Getting home right as the rain ends
Watching the sun set over the last climb
There are so many more, but I can't think of any right now
So let me know, what are your favorite things?

Feeling like I'm flying.
Feeling free to go as far as my legs will take me.
The sense of accomplishment that comes from doing a solid ride.
The fun of it all!

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs

Hot cup of coffee right after a cold ride.
A cold beer right after a hot ride.

-Riding at the crack of dawn.
-A warm shower after a long ride after which my muscles just feel sooooo relaxed.
-My bike leaning against the wall, beckoning to me.
-A smooth road.

My favorite things about cycling:
1. I get to exercise and burn thousands of calories doing something I love to do.
2. I get to eat tons of good food and drink beer after a ride and I never feel guilty doing it.
3. Bike schwag.

~Breathing casually through my nostrils only while humiliating guys with climbers' builds on murderously steep climbs.
~Waking up on the cool kitchen floor in a pool of sticky recovery drink with both legs involuntarily spasming.
~Bombing down a descent at 50+ mph for the first time on a bike and wheels I assembled myself.
~The anticipation of purchasing, restoring, building-up and riding beauties like this soon:
Pulling streams of slackers for miles and miles, and accelerating effortlessly whenever one of them attempts to take a pull.
Falling asleep watching helicopter footage of the tour..
...and the light from the TV illuminating my twin Pelotons:

Pumping up my tires before a ride and launching pebbles/rocks like missiles into parked cars Seriously, watching the sunrise while riding down old Highway 1 next to the surf.

There are so many more, but I can't think of any right now
So let me know, what are your favorite things?

I save the picture to photobucket (sure any service will do), then copy the direct link. Then when posting hit the picture frame between the globe a and the film strip and paste the copied direct link.
