Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

best new thing to get in 2012?

I am at a crossroads with what upgrade I want to make. Money being an issue, what is the best bang for the buck? Focus on which area comfort/speed/bling?

Yeah, and if you really need to spend your bike budget, how about a training plan, training book, class, coach or training camp. Or better yet, a bike vacation.

I'd budget for a cycling-focused vacation. Doesn't have to be to Europe or anything.

If you're dead set on buying equipment, I would suggest ultegra Di2.

That would be my 2nd suggestion. If you already own a megabuck wheel and can't stomach the idea, get a Quarq or wait for Garmin to release their pedal.

^^ That's what I want, the garmin vector pedals, so I can get rid of my powertap wheel, because i hate the way it rides. Stupid Kinlin XR270 rims are crap quality. I don't get why everyone raves about them. grrrr.

If you need us to tell you what upgrade to get, then you shouldn't be upgrading.
