59F in Central Park, NYC!!! Notably faster today vs. when it's been 30F. Also, less heads winds. Not complaining! :)

Did three laps yesterday, and did a ride out to Coney Island today. I'm loving this nuclear winter!

Oh stop.

We have. In the mountains, they've gotten snowfall in May.

Anyway, I did my wettest ever January ride this afternoon. Nine miles in the rain. On a normal January day that would be miserable. But today, it was almost fun.

Out today with a light jacket and no overcoat in Toronto. We haven't really had much of a winter here yet either BUT I try to remember that winter only started on Dec 21st. It will get here but i am not complain ing right now.

Beautiful day for a ride. I got 80km in with a couple of friends wearing spring attire.

I am not complaining just a little south of Wi in Illinois it has been great. Had the last week of December off work rode 200 miles in 6 days unheard of, and today able to ride a 33 miles and at a good clip for winter riding. Being a runner I can by winter as I increase my running but first time ever I back off in December to ride more. If I did not have preach 3 Masses tomorrow I would go out again it suppose to be good.

I increase running in the Winter as well. Love to run the trails with a nice snow dusting. Have been able to do that just one day this Winter.

Not complaining: I was out two days ago in my (Christmas gift) Discovery Channel shorts and short sleeve jersey kit in 64 degree weather. Felt great to be in summer gear again.

Complaining: While the occasional warmer day this time of year is inevitable, the regular and average occurrence of them are indicative of a change in the climate that is going to have far-reaching implications, and I fear it is too late to stop it from happening.

More complaining: There were freaking insects flying around that I had to clamp my mouth closed to keep from swallowing. In January. That's just wrong...

Weird weather for sure. My cycling partner has lived on the same neighborhood for most of his life in front of a lake. Says he has never seen the lake not fully frozen by this time of the year. It's been bitter cold this time of the years for the past few Winters I've lived here. IMO although the World has passed through warming cycles in the past, we have accelerated it this time exponentially. There's too much hype on this subject though...

With all the lies about man made global warming its hard to figure out what is the truth is. And you can go into all the carbon credits b.s. Once again it looks like a wall street scam in that regards.

There are so many inaccuracies and so much apparant misunderstanding about how science actually works in this post, there can be no reply. It would be like trying to explain the plot of a Christopher Nolan film to an alien...

fishymamba 01-08-12 01:37 PM

In the high 60s here in SoCal, perfect riding weather....except the wind is ruining everything :(

Take it to P&R where they tolerate, nay relish arguing nonsensical, uninformed, and rhetoric filled viewpoints...

I wondered when someone would start flapping like this.

edit: just wanted to add in case it was not clear, I AM teasing....

Wall street?? Umm, no it is actually the biggest critics of wall street showing their true colors. Al Gore and his ex hippie ilk are not wall street executives. They hate wall street because of their blind greed. Besides, they are just looking out for the little guy, right?

Ever hear the term "Methinks thou dost protest too much"?

edit: Damn it! You people lead me on a mild rant! ;)

blcknspo0ln 01-08-12 05:06 PM

It was 60* and sunny yesterday, so I was so pumped to ride today only to be greeted with a 45* and cloudy day. Ahh well, better than a frigid winter!

This would make the Monsignor happy and I did have a shorter homily. I did manage to run 7.5 miles early and then after the 11:30 mass I rode an easy 20 mile ride it was 38 degrees. Now I am having a beer probably another one too, a toast to the good weather.

Nice, but that extreme heat you guys get in Florida in Summer. At least you get to ride all year.

bbattle 01-09-12 07:27 AM

You guys are having about the same weather as us folks down in North Alabama. We've been drowning in rain the past month or so; I haven't been on my bike in ages.
