Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Where's Winter?!

SE Wisconsin weather has been very weird this Winter. Temps have been in the 40s for the past few days so the small amounts of snow that has fallen is gone. Today it's sunny and in the 30s so I took the bike out of the trainer and headed out. Found out about 17ish miles into my ride going up a hill how slippery ice can be on a road bike. Ouch! Ride was worth it though; I hate the trainer.

59F in Central Park, NYC!!! Notably faster today vs. when it's been 30F. Also, less heads winds. Not complaining!

I enjoy Winter with snow. Winter-sports are a lot of fun. Coldish temps. (warm for WI but cold enough) and almost no snow for play is no fun! Can't wait for Spring!

Looks like AlGore is finally coming through. Last year I tried to round up a group to go up to Belmeade and throw him a necktie party.

Noted... 15mph headwind here as well, but sunny and crisp! Did not enjoy the spill though....

I am not complaining just a little south of Wi in Illinois it has been great. Had the last week of December off work rode 200 miles in 6 days unheard of, and today able to ride a 33 miles and at a good clip for winter riding. Being a runner I can by winter as I increase my running but first time ever I back off in December to ride more. If I did not have preach 3 Masses tomorrow I would go out again it suppose to be good.

It was around 50 yesterday and today. It was single digit temps earlier in the week with a few inches of snow. I just like to have one or the other please.
