Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I love the Orbea and the Cervelo. Off topic question regarding the Orbea's truck rack... I have the mounts and want to make a set up like yours. Doest the 2x4 (6) stay put? Did you have to do something to secure it to the truck bed? I was kind of worried about going that route but if its good enough for your stable it should be good enough for me.

Thanks

My bed liner had a slot for it to fit but I ran some sheet rock screw through that bad boy because the idea of the aero bar creating lift is always on my mind lol...you could just drill and bolt them to the front bed rail, which I may do...like I said, it's a beater, I only drive it to the MUP and zaxbys....other than that it's just a bike rack and a gym closet

I went clincher although I will get some tubulars after August, I figure the clinchers are going to be the all round best choice for everyday rising. Not too heavy at 1550g

Thanks Ill mess around with it for a bit and see what I can come up with. Im kinda wary about permanently mounting it because all the kayaks, paddles and fishing poles I slide in the bed. Again, that Orbea looks sweet.

Thanks...if you do that I'd say mount it on the bed rail that way it's not blocking your kayak space...

That's a decent weight. When I'm in the market for deeper wheels Id like to stay in the 1500g range. The current wheels are 1650gr. The decision might be carbon breaking surface or aluminum.

Just go carbon all the way, I'm no heavy weight so the difference in stopping power is negligible

I usually stay between 165-170lbs. I'll be on a budget of $1000 when the time comes. Williams is one of my top choices but will also look at Boyd and November.

Thanks Jaymadd.. I have used Allen posts on a few bikes, the older style 2 screw would loosen up on occasion , but I haven't had any issues with the newer ones, I do crank the bolt pretty tight tho.. I'm in MA also, near Taunton / lakeville, where about are you at?

I guess my new build falls in between white or black.

Unfortunately it won't be completed until the end of this week. The shop I ordered the frameset from packed the wrong seatmast cutting guide, seatmast shims, and also left out the bottom bracket cable guide and the flip-flop headtube cable guides for Di and/or mechanical cables use.

Thats good to know, I've got the newer one bolt version and will keep it torqued up. I read Pcad's rants regarding his USE Posts after I had bought mine. I'm in Haverhill on the NH border. What kind of pedals do you have there?
