Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 12 Bianchi Oltre VDCM,11 Bianchi Cavaria, 13 Bianchi Cavaria,12 Bianchi infinito, couple vintage Bianchi's and a 1980 alan super record

It's wildly idiotic and entertaining all at the same time.

WTF do people do rip parts off their bike like that? Whether it's carbon or aluminum, nothing should break like that. THe picture above is clearly because somebody overtightened the **** out of their stem and then hit a big bump. With knock off parts, I would be much more worried about what people say about them than how they function. Lol. As UCIMBZ says above, functionally, an ally/carbon wrapped stem is safe. It's about nostalgia.

tHE ISSUE FOR THE MOST PART IS THE FACT THEY USE BRAND NAMES TO RIPP OFF THE ORIGINAL COMPANIES. I THINK WE CAN ALL AGREE THE PRODUCT IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR NORMAL USE. i STARTED THIS THREAD TO SEE IF IT WAS LEGIT AND THE PART IS GOOD BUT IT'S LIKE PURCHASING KNOCK OFF PERFUMES. IM SURE IF THEY LABELED THEM WITH THEIR OWN BRAND. THEY COULD MAKE MORE MONEY AND PEOPLE WOULD BUY THEM.

ITS MORE ABOUT MORALS AND INTEGRITY FOR ME. ( + i don't want to hear crap from the club for purchasing counterfit parts )

JUST WRAP IT IN CARBON WITH NO BRAND OR JUST STAMP IT ( MADE IN CHINA ) OR WHAT EVER AND I WOULD PAY $30.00 FOR ONE OF THIS STEMS.

Wasn't Specialized a Counterfeit Ritchey? There is nothing keeping honest companies honest. Which is why they go with the cheapest bidder for manufacturing and get their goods and designs stolen. It's pretty much that simple. (What is legal or illegal here in the states may have NO bearing on whether it's legal somewhere else.)

Not defending... Just saying, the real companies aren't exactly as legit as you think they are.
