you'll have the same overall reach to the hoods. It'll make absolutely no difference in handling from the hoods. But the important part is that it'll look better. I'd still do it.

So here's an update.
Yesterday I called a local fitter, who does Dartfish. He validated my positioning, with a few tweaks in the shoes, seatpost and saddle height. BUT he also confirmed that I needed to reduce my handlebar reach by 3cm. I left with a 3T Ergonova. I didnt have that round egg feeling that I thought, so my apologies to the person(s) who recommended it to me. BUT what was more bedazzling, was that I went from a handlebar width of 44cm down to a 40cm! I had a lot of trouble believing it. He reassured me that even with a 40, my arms were still slightly open. So thanks again for all of your input. EDIT: Just to clarify, I went to the fitter's this morning. |
ergonovas seem to have a long ramp because the ramp is designed to go down to the hood, not straight out.

Hmmm, I suppose narrower bars might slightly extend your reach what with that whole a^2+b^2=c^2 business or whatever. I really don't want to think about high school math any more than I have to.

it moves the hoods closer without moving them backward.
