Where do you keep your floor pump?
I used to keep it upright in a corner but I believe this is not the best place to keep a floor pump. First of all there is a lot of tension in the pump from standing up the whole time. Second when it's sunny I'm sure the UV rays can't be good for the pump finish. Also the oxygen will probably damage the rubber hose. From now on I think I will lay down the pump in a different corner, away from any windows and I will wrap the hose in shrink wrap when not in use. Am I doing this right?

You need compressed nitrogen.
Or helium if you're a weight weenie.

in all seriousness... i used to keep my pump outside but it doesn't work the next morning if it's below freezing during the night. So i don't know how practical keeping it in the freezer would be....

Laying the pump in a different corner as you propose does nothing to address the issue of stressing the pump unevenly and will have very little impact on reducing oxidation of the hose. You should store your pump in an argon environment where it is mechanically rotated to prevent consistent stress from being applied to the pump.

My pump's name is Dave. During the day Dave stays next to my bikes (Rip, Buzz and Jethro) in the garage. When I go to bed at night I put Dave on his side on a table near the bikes (unless it's below 45-degrees, then he comes inside). In the morning, I go out to the garage to say good morning to Dave (and Rip, Buzz and Jethro of course) and stand Dave up again for the day. I've occasionally forgotten to put Dave to bed and find that it takes me longer to pump up my tires the next day. Dave's quirky that way.

The trick with floorpumps is to remove the silly rubber ring in it and replace it with a genuine leather one, preferably hand crafted.
When the pump is not in use for a day, you should remove said leather piece and keep it oiled and clean.
This will garantee a lifetime of pumping pleasure

I use a modified jockey box (cooler with copper coils acts as midline chiller) to cool my tire air. It's great for cooling my beer, so I modified one I had to pump air.
Here's an instructable on how to build a jockey box, if you want to make one: https://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-...eer-tapcooler/
