Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New build

I guess this is as good a time as any to start a build thread. A few weeks ago, in my first race of the season (and my career, so to speak), I was crashed out and cracked my Supersix Hi-mod (Sram red, with many of the parts below that sat at 13.5lbs). Due to injury, I felt it was as good a time as any to change group sets as well. Super excited for this build. Looking at probably high 13s low 14s.

Build list
Frame Pink S-works Tarmac SL4 (ordered today)
Seatpost S-Works
Shifters Record 11 (prospective)
F and R Mech Record 11 (prospective
Casette Chorus (prospective)
Chain KMC x11sl
Crankset Hollowgram SiSl + stronglight CT2 53/39 (in hand)
Pedals Speedplay Zero Ti (in hand, but may change as the colors won't match. So vain am I)
Stem probably Zipp Service course, unless I need a 90 in which case it will remain a 3T team
Handlebars Zipp SL (in hand)
Tape Lizardskins
Bottle Cages Profile designs Karbon Kage (in hand)
Saddle Tune Speedneedle Alcantara (in hand)
Wheels Zipp FC 606T (in hand) and Easton EA90aero (in hand)
Tires Vittoria Corsa Evo 23 tubulars Vittoria Corsa Evo 25 clinchers
Skewers Tune DC14 (in hand)

84g on my scale

170g on my scale

Bikes: Cannondale Supersix Hi-Mod / Scott Spark 930 / Scott Sportster 20 / Jamis Allegro 2.0

Just out of interest - why the move away from the high-mod Cannondale frame?

I have the same frame...

Looks like a cool project though - I'll look forward to some pics.

Wanted to try something new, plus I couldn't pass up the pink tarmac. Don't get me wrong, the Hi-Mod is a fantastic frame, but I think the Tarmac may fit a little better too.
Will post pics as stuff comes in

Hi, nice setup. I was thinking of doing some racing myself and I own a Cannondale EVO with Di2 and other nice bits but I don't want to race it for just that reason , some bozo (could be me ) takes me out and there goes my high $$ bike. I'm thinking of building a Caad 10 as it has the same geometry as the evo super six and if I go down less of a loss

Wow, sweet. I always loved pink bikes. Kind of why I want a Gaulzetti so bad. We need more (in focus) pics!

@Ducati hyp, if funds allowed for another bike I would definitely build a CAAD10 or similar as a race bike, but I'm not sure how much more racing I'll be doing this season anyway. In any case, N+1
Slightly more in focus
