Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Garmin Connect Elevation Change

Thank you Garmin for changing the elevation chart back to relative elevation instead of from sea level. I like to think it was because of my email, but probably not. Thanks again.

If they could just explain the differences between Garmin Connect and Strava with the same data, I'd be happy. Maybe a question for Strava.

Totally understand where you're coming from. My Garmin says I rode 10,105 feet and Strava says 9,976 feet. That's a difference of 129 feet! Not to mention that Stava puts me below the 10k foot climb level! If I knew this was the case, I'm sure I would have made up the difference! Sheesh

A lot of us wrote e-mails to Garmin. Yes, glad they fixed the "bug"; and thanks Garmin for taking care of it. It was just probably a programming glitch that was overlooked at the time and they had to wait until the next incremental update to restore it.

They told me they changed it on purpose. Some old ride data still starts at 0 ft.
